How our calculators work
No black boxes. Each calculator uses standard, well-documented financial formulas — the same amortization and compound-interest math a bank uses. We state our assumptions plainly (for example, “no new charges” or “interest compounds monthly”), cite the sources behind any reference figures, and run everything on your device so your numbers stay private. When a real-world detail would change the answer, we tell you instead of hiding it.
Who's behind it
Laertex is built by the Roosterbeacon team — a small group of engineers and writers who got tired of money tools that felt like tax software. We make the kind of calculators we wish we'd had when we were figuring this out ourselves.
